Steps to reproduce:
1. open firefox46 in linux.
2. move or re-size the browser window.
3. click 'open menu' button on the top right corner multiple times.
Actual results:

The same issue exists when I click the toggleButton for my addons.

This doesn't reproduce here with GTK 3.16.7 and kwin.
Which version of GTK3 and window manager are in use?

Hi, I am running GTK 3.10.8, and the window manager is Mint 13(Cinnamon).

In fact, this misplacement problem happens to me for every overlay in Firefox.
I am using:
* Firefox 46.0
* Ubuntu GNOME 14.04.4
* GNOME Shell 3.10.4
* GTK version 3.10.8-0ubuntu1.6
This affects:
* The context menu, as shown in the attached gif
* The hamburger menu popup
* Pop-up panels of third-party plugins like Lastpass
* The awesomebar suggestions
* The search box suggestions
* Autocomplete pop-ups from inside the page, e.g. on scholar.google.com
The symptoms:
* For one time after moving the Firefox window or the mouse, the new pop-up / context menu appears correctly placed. Any subsequent clicks will misplace the pop-up. This happens consistently. You can see me in the attached gif simply pressing a succession right-clicks. Since I don't move the mouse after closing the context menu the first time, it will be misplaced the second time.

Hi,
Any progress made on this bug?
Thanks
I have this same problem using:
* gtk-3 3.20.6-2ubuntu1~xenial2
* Firefox 47.0+build3-0ubuntu0.16.0
* Awesome WM 3.5.6
Currently it's affecting me on autocomplete pop-ups, I haven't had issues with other widgets/components.

screenwise.browsers@gmail.com, are you using multiple monitors?

I am unable to reproduce this on latest Nightly 52.0a1, 20161003030438 on Ubuntu 16.04.
Martin or screenwise, are you using multiple monitors? There are known issues with that, as Karl pointed to see also bug above.

For me, the problem in Firefox 46.0+ disappeared after updating my machine to Ubuntu 16.04 (from 14.04) and the included Gnome Shell change from 3.10.4 to 3.18.*

I'm using firefox 49.0+build4-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 and gnome-shell 3.22.0-1ubuntu1~yakkety1, and the problem still can be seen, it happens less than in the past though.
Like 80% of the time I do use multiple monitors, and firefox is always open, the typical sequence is unplug monitor, hibernate, resume, plug monitors again.
I'll give a try to the latest nightly.
